Sotto 1.4.17: quieter Secure Input, no more freezes, a locked-down API
Sotto stops warning you about Secure Input unless it actually blocks your shortcut, no longer freezes when you stop a recording or launch with a large history, and puts a token in front of its local API.
Modifier-only shortcuts get one calm notice after a minute of Secure Input, at most once per app every six hours, never mid-recording, with an off switch in Settings › Hotkeys.
The local API requires a token, listens only on this Mac unless you allow other devices, and sends provider keys to your iPhone encrypted.
Assistant context capture is opt-in and skips password fields; Assistant tools quit apps gracefully, move files to the Trash, and keep shell commands off until you enable them.
The recording waveform and Assistant glow render far more cheaply, history saves only when something changed, and crash reports are captured more reliably.
Secure Input no longer triggers warning banners, a menu bar warning icon, or repeated alerts; key-combination shortcuts keep working through it silently.
Stopping a recording, importing a file, and launching with a large history no longer freeze the app.
Cancelling AI enhancement with Esc no longer pastes the raw transcript anyway, and push-to-talk can no longer get stuck recording.
Transcript cleanup no longer removes words like "actually" mid-sentence or adds periods to links and file names; Find & Replace only uses patterns when Regex is ticked.
Heads up: iPhone companions need to pair again after this update, and the command-line tool now uses the token Sotto writes when you install it. Assistant context capture is now off by default; turn it on in Settings › Assistant › Privacy if you rely on it.
