Supermac 1.0.24
Supermac 1.0.24 is the biggest update yet: a complete screenshot workflow with a rebuilt annotator, backgrounds, history, and stacking previews — plus revived window management, a much smarter calculator, a faster launcher, and per-feature switches for the whole app.
A rebuilt screenshot annotator
The annotation editor got a ground-up rework. Tools stay active while you work, and clicking any existing element selects it so you can move, resize, recolor, or re-edit it without switching tools — double-click text to edit it again. Crop is now a real mode: adjust the edges with handles while seeing the full image, then apply or discard. Zoom from the menu, with cmd+scroll, or pinch, and pan with a two-finger scroll or by dragging empty space. Step numbers behave as one sequence — change the style (1-2-3, A-B-C, Roman), starting value, size, or color once and every number follows. Drop any image straight onto the canvas as a layer, and exports are now exactly what you see: text renders correctly and the pixelate tool actually pixelates.
Backgrounds, wallpapers, and presets
Make screenshots presentation-ready without leaving the editor. A resizable Background panel offers twenty gradients, plain colors with a custom color picker, and wallpaper libraries — your own images, bundled sets, and your Mac's built-in wallpapers, each behind its own switch so the panel stays tidy. Add padding, rounded corners (all the way to a capsule), a soft shadow, and an aspect ratio, then save the combination as a preset with an optional default that applies automatically. Every copy, save, or drag-out ships with the background baked in.
Screenshot History panel
A clipboard-history-style panel for your screenshots, on its own assignable hotkey. It slides in from the bottom (or docks to the right edge) with recent captures as cards: click to paste into the app you were using, hover for copy, annotate, reveal, or delete, drag any card out as a file, and search the text inside your screenshots thanks to OCR. New captures also stack in the corner now — several screenshots pile up, fan out on hover, and dismiss on their own configurable timers.
Window management is back
Snap windows to halves, thirds, two-thirds, quarters, center, maximize, and almost-maximize from launcher commands or global hotkeys. Configure window and screen gaps, repeat a snap to cycle sizes, optionally cycle windows across displays, and keep Stage Manager happy while doing it.
A much smarter calculator
Launcher math now runs on the Soulver engine: natural phrases, dates, units, percentages, time zones, and number bases all evaluate inline. Currency conversions use live exchange rates that refresh in the background and tell you how fresh they are.
A faster, steadier launcher
Typing in the launcher feels immediate: results update incrementally instead of re-rendering, icons load asynchronously, and the app index refreshes the moment you install or remove an app. Running apps show a live indicator, and the launcher remembers its position separately on every monitor — drag it near the center and it snaps back with a visual guide.
Every feature is now a switch
Settings no longer hides functionality behind app modes. Every feature — Screenshots, Clipboard, Window Management, AI, and the rest — has its own on/off switch in the header of its settings pane. Features you have not enabled stay visible in the sidebar, one click away from turning on, and disabling one removes its commands and hotkeys everywhere at once.
Activity Monitor, Raycast import, and agent skills
The Activity Monitor command opens a live process browser with CPU and memory per app and quit / force-quit actions. Snippets can import your entire Raycast collection (JSON or .rayconfig) with duplicate detection. AI Chat and Talk voice agents gained per-agent skill controls, and translations now keep a searchable history with model and language preferences.
Other Changes
Taking a screenshot no longer closes the launcher, so you can capture Supermac itself.
The screenshot gallery gains Delete, copy actions confirm with a toast, and OCR settings changes re-scan existing screenshots.
File Shelf images gain an Annotate action, and previews appear on the monitor your cursor is on.
The About pane shows richer build info: identifier, timestamp, commit, and configuration.
Companion and browser connections use stronger authentication, and file transfers now support up to 1 GB with progress.
Emoji and snippet insertion now paste like Raycast, fixing corrupted or duplicated text in some apps.
Failed captures and save-folder problems now tell you what went wrong instead of doing nothing.
Screenshot hotkeys fire reliably, and all screenshot commands appear in launcher search.
Update checks now come to the foreground properly, and Check for Updates is searchable from the launcher.
Launcher positioning across multiple displays was fixed, along with a Cmd+K focus trap.
Annotation lines and text are no longer half-size on Retina captures.
